DSE Loses Tk. 17,824 Crore in Market Value: What Drove the Decline?
Between the close of 1 October and 2 November 2026, the DSE’s total market capitalisation fell from Tk 685,935.76 crore to Tk 668,111.97 crore. The net decline was Tk 17,823.79 crore, or 2.60%, across 21 trading sessions. The equity-only measure fell more sharply: from Tk 343,423.39 crore to Tk 329,344.65 crore, a decline of Tk 14,078.74 crore, or 4.10%.
This is a fall in market value, not an equivalent cash outflow. Total market capitalisation includes securities beyond shares; corporate actions and changes in outstanding securities can also affect it.
